Zuavo Federal - Federal Zouave



Muchos regimientos de voluntarios durante la Guerra Civil tomaron el patronaje de los coloristas Zuavos Franceses. Se muestra el uniforme de Regimiento Voluntario 5º de Nueva York.


Su equipo incluía mosquete, bayoneta y la bolsa de la municiones ( en su lado derecho), cantimplora, bolsa de lona y el soporte de la bayoneta ;Una manta enrollada y una mochila a su espalda.

Many volunteer regiments during the Civil War patterned their uniforms afther the colorful French Zouaves. Shown here is the uniform of the 5th New York Volunteer Regiment.

His equipment includes musket, bayonet and cartridge box (on his right hip), canteen, haversack, and the bayonet scabbard; and he would probably have carried a Bowie knife. A blanket roll and knapsack are slung on his back.
