Remington M1863 Zouave

Fabricado por la empresa Armas Remigton en 1863, con un total de 10.001 unidades, el "Zuavo" fue uno de los mejores fabricados y diseñados armas largas militares de la época de la Guerra Civil Americana. Aunque no hay constancia de que fuera utitilizada durante la guerra.
El arma monta un cañon pavonado, y en la platina las letras "US" con un aguila.
El guardamonte, las abrazaderas y la tapa de la caja de la cureña estan acabadas con un pulido especial.
Tiene el nombre de "Zuavo" porque tanto el cañon pavonado como las abraceras de cobre pulido eran de lo más llamativo a los mosquetes de la época, al igual que el unifome de los Zuavos que eran tambien muy llamativos de los demás uniformes.

Made by Remington Arms in 1863 with a total quantity of 10.001 units, the "Zouave" was one of the best made and designed military long arms of the American Civil War era. There is no record however of the Zouave being issued and/or used during the war.

This musket features a blued barrel and colour case-hardened lock marked “US” with an eagle. The triggerguard, barrel bands and patchbox are finished in highly polished brass.

Got named the Zouave Rifle because its blued metal and brass fittings made it flashier than the standard rifled muskets, the same way the Zouave uniform was flashier than the standard one.
