El Museo Holandés Zuavo es creado por el hermano Christofoor van Langen. El se interesó por ls historia de los Zuavos Pontificios y coleccionó todos los documentos y objetos que tuvo a su alcance. Su extensa colección se instaló en una especie de sala de profesorados de la universidad. Fue abierta oficialmente como museo en 1947.
Después de que la muerte del hermano Christofoor en 1968 la colección fué dada en préstamo a las autoridades locales de Oudenbosch, quienes determinaron que el antiguo ayuntamiento, de 1776, era el lugar ideal para ubicar el museo.
Y el museo fue abierto de nuevo en el antiguo ayuntamiento el 1 de mayo de 1975.
La historia de los Zuavos Pontificios durante la primera mitad del siglo diecinueve de los sentimientos nacionalistas que maduraron en Italia, manifestándose en la búsqueda de la unificación geográfica del país.
Como resultado de esto la independencia de los estados Papales, sobre los cuales el Papa tenía la soberanía, fue puesta en peligro.
El museo y su colección ocupan tres salas. En la primera sala están expuestas algunos uniformes auténticos. En la segunda sala hay un par de pinturas de los artistas, Faber y Pieter Janszoon. Las hermandades y las asociaciones de Zuavos tenían banderas propias, estas banderas se han conservado y se exhiben en la sala tres. La parte más interesante de la colección es posiblemente el gran numero de cartas personales, fotografías, peticiones, diarios, cartas de descarga, y decoraciones: toda la evidencia tangible de un capítulo más notable historia de los Católicos Romanos Holandeses.

He was keenly interested in the history of the papal Zouaves and collected all the documents and items he could find on the subject.
His extensive collection was housed in the teachers training college.
It was officially opened as a museum in 1947.
After Brother Christofoor's death in 1968 the collection was given on loan to the Oudenbosch local authorities, who determined that the former town hall, dating from 1776, was henceforth to be the permanent accommodation for the museum.
And so the museum was reopened in the former town hall on May 1, 1975.
The History of the Zouaves During the first half of the nineteenth century nationalist sentiments matured in Italy, manifesting themselves in the pursuit of geographical unification of the country. As a result of this the indepen-dence of the Papal States, over which the Pope had sovereignty, was endangered.
The Museum and its Collection There are three rooms in the museum. In the first some authentic uniforms are on display. In the second room two paintings by a Dutch artist, Faber and Pieter Janszoon. Zouave brotherhoods and associations had banners of their own, of course, and those banners that have been preserved are displayed in room three. Possibly the most interesting part of the collection is the large number of personal letters, photographs, petitions, diaries, letters of discharge, and decorations: all tangible evidence of a most remarkable chapter in the history of the Dutch Roman Catholics.
